I Believe…Do you?

Believe, really believe, you can move a mountain, and you can. Not many people believe that they can move mountains. So as a result, not many people do.” – David J. Schwartz, Ph.D.

Too often in life we make goals, we make dreams, we have admiration for great and monstrous achievements yet for whatever reasons unbeknown to man those hopes, those desires, they dissipate away. You could poll one hundred people as to what happened to what they wanted to achieve and I guarantee you the majority of the answers would fall back on not truly believing. I think to the people who I would consider successful that in and around my life and the one common denominator that is prevalent in all is that they believe in themselves and they believe in what they are doing.

I focus on the American public and the downfall comes in that we all want greatness and really speak a good game yet when things get some what tough it’s time for us to call it quits. The saying that talk is cheap is right on the money because sure words sound good but at some point in time a person must stop talking and start doing. The doing in this situation is believing in yourself and I urge you to say out loud, “I BELIEVE I can do this.” Repeat the sentence giving emphasis on the capitalized words each time, “I BELIEVE I can do this”… “I BELIEVE I CAN do this”…. “I BELIEVE I CAN DO this”… and finally put it all together… “I BELIEVE I CAN DO THIS.”

If done correctly you should have an elevated pulse right now and an even higher belief that YOU can do whatever it is that you put your mind to it. I urge you today that when you face a difficult and challenging situation simply repeat the sentence from above and be successful today. Choose to believe in yourself even at the times that it seems no one else is on your side. The stronger that you believe the more you will find others believing in yourself as well.

Why Goal Setting Is Important

Last night I treated myself to a very special movie as I drifted off to sleep. I couldn’t help but put on The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and one of the ideas that struck me was writing down what it is that we want through the Law of Attraction. This made me think about goal setting and putting our goals to paper and how we are more likely to succeed when we write it down.

Just like the movie spoke of visualizing what it is that we want to achieve this made me think to the times I’ve heard people say, “Got a goal…write it down.” What these people have actually been saying is write it down, visualize your goals, and the Law of Attraction will fall into place.

Yet why do we as humans fail in achieving our goals? I think it is simply because we fail to allow the Law of Attraction to work for us. Too often negative thoughts creep into our minds and before we know it we are pulling negative attractions as opposed to the positiveness we need to embrace. Now with this thought process I am in the process of mapping out my goals from short-term to long-term goals.

Yes I will post these goals on the site because I want the Law of Attraction to work for me as I believe 100% that I can achieve what it is that I think about. Just like the movie states, “Energy flows where attention goes.”

All Things Are Possible To Those Who Believe

Attitude is everything and sometimes the hardest thing to do is to maintain a positive attitude. There are times that we all struggle with this as it is much easier to begin thinking negative than what it is to take the time to step back, take a deep breath, and put forth a positive approach to thinking. Today is one of those times in which I personally need to think positive. I’ve got a lot going on around me and I really need to focus in on being as positive as possible.

It seems that when it rains it pours and this can be for the positive approach as well as the negative. Too many times though when a person states the above sentence, it is normally raining down pretty hard on them in a negative sense. I am off work for the next two days and I really need to re-focus my priorities, I need to hone in on who I am, who I want to be, and the steps that I am going to take to get there.

All things are possible to those who believe and for me I believe all things are possible through Jesus Christ who died upon the cross for my sins. In case you are unaware this is scripture from Philippians 4:13. To be honest I know that I need to believe in him more than just relying upon myself for personal redemption. I know this is a random post but my thoughts have been pretty random and I have recognized a stagnation in writing my book, learning Spanish, etc., even though I have had opportunities that ultimately I have not capitalized upon.

It’s ironic how when we start moving in a positive direction towards a goal how we have distractions that just simply pop up in our way and…well….distract us. The next two days are going to be two days of reflections, goal-setting, game planning and most importantly execution. That’s what it all comes down to is execution. To be the best player at a sport…it requires practice and execution. To obtain a degree from a university….requires preparing for the material and execution. No matter the example, success purely comes from practice, practice, practice, and most importantly execution.

If I had a drink in my hand right now as I write this I would hold it up and toast to all of us executing our dreams, our goals, our hopes, to the fullest extent and knowing that all things are possible to those who believe.
